Refelction 2

This course was one of the most interesting courses we have ever taken and this is because we had a great instructor who has been with us throughout this course and has taught us a lot of things. We have become able to write essays that contains 600 words as min. we have known a lot of things that is related to how to do a complete project from the beginning until the end. It is easy to know that we can write an essay or a project, but this course has taught us how to deal with essays, assignments and projects in a professional way and at the end, we have known what LSEC is. What is so important is that we have Mr. Hedley who has walked the entire road with us and stopped in every tiny point that was difficult and make it much easier and more comprehensible as we have improved our thinking style, and writing and researching skills. So, a special thanks to Mr. Hedley who have done all that.
Now looking back to myself, I am a hard working student who works so hard in improving himself. I knew that this course is really important because it is about knowing the professional steps to make a professional and perfect project and almost every subjects or courses I will take in my next year will need that, so I had to know the steps to make my work in the next courses much more professional than being a novice one. I know I have worked so hard and learnt a lot of things and I believe that I can get a high mark like an A. All in all, as it is said: if there is a will, there is away and I have the will and with Mr. Hedley, I could find my right way!

Global Warming

There are a lot of dangerous consequences of global warming.  Initially, when the earth becomes warmer, thousands of fish species will die because they do not have the suitable environment to live in. A new report from World Wildlife Fund (WWF) stunted that fish population are under increasing threat from global warming. WWF director Andrew Lee said: "Climate change increases the pressure on fish population that are already strained to the limit by over-fishing in the marine environment."(WWF.or.jp)(3) Undoubtedly, the global warming causes the earth temperature to increase as there is much more CO2 released into the air (4). It resulted in the collapse of permafrost in Alaska and Northern European. Anther dangers result of the global warming is that the buildings near the polar will possibly collapse. Al Gore mentioned that global warming would cause differences in the ecological niche. It means that the food chain in the ecology system would be destabilized. For example, the polar bear would die because the ice will disappear. Consequently, there would be a lot of diseases in the area to the corpses of the bears.  He also warned us that if the ice shelf melts, Florida, the Maldives, and much of the low lying areas of the world will be under water.  It is exactly what is happening in Antarctica nowadays. The ice shelf is pouring into the sea, which results in the rise of sea level.  The NSIDC's leader Dr. Ted Scambos said the Arctic Circle is receding at such a rate that is now close to a "tipping point" from which it may never recover. (nsidc.org)(5)  D'Silva, Roy . (n.d.). What causes global warming. Retrieved from ? http://www.buzzle.com/articles/what-causes-global-warming.html

The global warming has some causes and effects. There are a lot of different reasons for global warming in the world. It is caused by many causes such as factories pollution, carbon dioxide increase, burning coal, and greenhouse gases are all causes of global warming. The main reason for the global warming is the man activities on the earth. (1) Al Gore, a vice president of the USA and Nobel Prize winner, said that there are three factors causing collision between our civilization and the earth, population, pollution, and technology. These three elements are all forming the global warming and increasing the climate change.  Burning fossil fuels is one of the major causes of global warming around the world. It means more Carbone Dioxide released into the air.  The second cause of global warming is the population. More people means needs for food, which absolutely results the need for transportation and industry to make food. All are sources of global warming. When the population increases, the need for food would rise and the pressure on the environment would go up. That is because we do not stop building factories polluting the earth. The green house gases cause the sun heat not to release in to the space which causes the climate change. The temperature of the earth increases. (2)It would result in a universal lack of food because there would be a great disturbance in the ecological order of food chain. . An inconvenience truth means that the global warming will pose a need to change and change is often inconvenience. ((N. LISCHAK , GABRIEL . (July 10, 2006 , July 10). Although the UAE signed the United Nations’ Kyoto protocol on global warming, it is found that the UAE is one of the countries with the highest demand on the glob ecosystem. The emirates are consuming away energy by cooled swimming pools, huge 4x4s, artificial resort islands, an indoor ski slope and air conditioners in every house, car and shopping mall. The environmental agencies are putting planes to cut emissions, through reducing the use of air conditions. Campaigns are motivating people to turn down their air conditioning. But the need to live a good life which is somehow felt by the air conditioning every where, it is a hard solution to achieve. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16640176/

Reflection 1

Things I have learned in this course

I have learned so many things through this course. First of all, my researching skills have improved. Since this course is related to searching, I get the opportunity to know about many searching engines and how to use it from Google and Yahoo to search for information inside some books. What is so interesting but difficult at the same time is doing the references. There are so many ways to do the reference : APA, MLA, etc and each one of them has special steps that a person needs to follow in order to get the reference right; I have used the APA style in my papers. In addition to that, doing research about certain topics that the instructors assign allows me sometimes to discover and know about new information that I did not know before. This is something good because I get to new knowledge that may help me later on in either my academic or real life. All in all, I cannot but say that this course has been very beneficial to me as a student because it will help to know how to do research in other courses.

World Wide Web

Introduction

World Wide Web is an information medium through which the users can write and read via computers which are connected with internet. It is a system of interlinked formatted document that is supported by the various internet servers. HTML is a markup language in which the documents are formatted. These documents are linked with other documents, graphics, video and audio files. Now by clicking on the hot spots you can move from one document to another. Web browser is an application through which the accessing of the World Wide Web gets easier. The two most popular web browsers are Microsoft’s internet explore and Mozilla Firefox. (World Wide Web)

History about World Wide Web

Tim Berners Lee in 1980 built ENQIRE which was a personal database of software models and people. In EQUIRE each page is interlinked with an existing page. In 1990, he had built all tools which were necessary for the working web. Some of the tools were hyper text markup language (HTML) indices, hyper text transfer protocol 0.9, HTTP server software, web server, web browser and web pages. In 1991, he posted short summary on alt.hypertext newsgroup about World Wide Web. The first graphical browser was Mosaic web browser which was developed by a team at the University of Illinois in 1993. The concept of dot- com was introduced in year 1999. Web 2.0 was the first model that introduced the concept of information exchanging and sharing in the beginning of 2002. You tube is a video viewing website developed by three employees of PayPal.   (History of world wide web)

Uses of the World Wide Web

World Wide Web has brought a drastic change in the field of education. Both students and teachers search the web for different information. It helps them to know about recently released technologies. The web is also used for on line shopping and people can search for the new products. Now a days, many banks provide the service of online banking across the country. By this facility a person can transfer the money from any place. The web is used for playing online games and for listening to music. (Uses of world wide web)

Impact of web on the engineering student

The growth of the web has changed the way of learning of the students. Engineering educators use the web as a tool for the presentation of both supplemental and basic materials for the instruction process. On the web, the wide range of matter is available for the engineering students. It helps them by searching on the internet. Many students use the internet for presenting their assignments and engineering designs. The nonlinear and graphical patterns of the web provide many new ways of organizing and presenting the data. Students are able to know about different new technologies and their uses.

Conclusion

In the last few years the use of the World Wide Web has increased drastically. Nowadays, the World Wide Web is used in each and every field. It helps the students in searching particular data. The people can make their own database on the internet. Web also provides the facility of online shopping. But the negative effect of  the web is the student becomes addicted. The web does not provide the security for your data. So the web has both positive aspects and negative aspects.

Comparing the Bugatti Veyron and the The Porsche 911 Turbo

The first car was invented in1700  by an English man .It was very simple and worked by steam .That was the style people knew .But by human ingenuity , they started developing  and modifying the cars .Cars have become more attractive .So companies started to make different style of car. Germany componies make some of the best car .They brought to the world gifts which are the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 Turbo. So I would like to describe the similarities and differences between them.

These cars have several things in common .A major similarity is style .Both of them are racing cars, so they only drive on racing tracks .Another similarity is cost . Both of them are extremely expensive. So the ordinary people can’t buy them .In addition to this ,the German company made only a few of these cars .Besides these things they are both similar in economies .The Bugatti Veyron has high tech specification and so has the Porsche 911.

There are a number of significant differences between the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911. An important one is  the weight of body . The Bugatti Veyron  weighs  435lbs ( Bovingdon.2010 ) .And the Porsche 911 weighs 3650-3750lbs ( Renolds.2007 ) . Another difference is speed .The Bugatti Veyron can go from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds ,( Bovingdon.2010 ) .And likewise the Porsche 911 can also go from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds ( Renolds.2007 ) .In addition to that , they have different horse power . The Bugatti Veyron has 1,001 HP ( Bovingdon.2010 ). In contrast the  Porsche 911 has 480 HP ( Renolds.2007 ) .The last difference is the safety . The Bugatti Veyron is safer than the Porsch 911( Bovingdon.2010 ) , ( Renolds.2007 ) The final difference is the transmission . The Bugatti Veyron has a 7 speed ,twin clutch auto ,but the Porsche 911 has a 6 speed manual gearbox .

In my opinion the Bugatti is the fastest car in the world. Even though there are some differences between the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 Turbo, I would choose, instead of the Bugatti the Porsche 911 Turbo car because, they are affordable and they are easy to maintain. I don't think that I can drive the Bugatti in the street and where could I reach top speed.?

Latin America in the driver’s seat

Stefan Hofer gives a rundown on why Latin America to be an attractive destination for global investors.

A recent annual meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank in Mexico, on the back of increased capital of the Islamic Development Bank is intended. A prominent theme among the participants that can be assembled in Latin America largely to two
categories of countries, financial stocks did not show up in material terms, while debt levels are still reasonably low, and these countries include Chile, Colombia and Peru, Brazil and Mexico. Weight of the second group is still having difficulty expected to fall in the part of the institutional challenges. This group includes Argentina, Venezuela and Ecuador. While the high energy and commodity prices generally. The State Development Bank and Bunco do Brazil will maintain or increase market share in domestic lending. Played a vital role in avoiding the credit crunch in Brazil, after Lehman Brothers, to compensate for the lack of credit in the private sector. But, as the normalization of global credit conditions, have shown little interest in reducing their operations.

One of the key take always of the meetings of the Islamic Development Bank is the relative attractiveness of Mexico in the region. Exceptionally, the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance in particular, are well managed.
